We visited scottsdaleaz.gov/water/conservation to find out how to be water efficient, and to share with all of you how you can be more helpful. This also includes how one can benefit from this. Residential and commercial landscapes are consuming about 50%- 70% of our residential water according to this website. The water that is made for everyday use, is being used up mostly by your landscape believe it or not. The purpose of this Single-Family Turf Removal Rebate that we learned about from the City of Scottsdale is to save money and water!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? The turf removal rebate is available to single–family residential properties that receive water for Scottsdale water system and meet the program qualifications and requirements stated in the application. (So upon approval)
REQUIREMENTS: The turf conversion is required to be inspected by water conservation staff to verify eligibility BEFORE the grass is removed.
-Property must have a min of 500sqft.
-Must be growing at a min. density of 50%
-Project must be completed within 6 months
-A Final inspection may be required when project is complete.
MAXIMUM REBATE= $1500
-OPTION 1: Turf removal only =$0.25 per square foot of sod removed.
-OPTION 2: Turf removal with installation of low-water-use plant material= $0.50 per square foot of sod removed.
-ONE REBATE PER PROPERTY! When removing sod and converting to artificial grass the homeowner and commercial customer is able to get option one.
